• PATTERN RECOGNITION •

Pattern recognition is a sustainable exploration of fabric, pattern, print and design through a curated capsule collection for Selfridges London.

Project Earth is a retail and digital concept launched by Selfridges, giving environmentally friendly fashion brands the platform to engage with earth-conscious consumers, through product digital discussions and interviews.

Rare and original antique items of pre-worn and deadstock clothing are the base for the brand. The garments in this collection are analysed, restored, repurposed and reimagined.

Inspirations range from military camouflage to hand-painted pieces from The Vintage Showroom Archive. Working together with an artisan dyeing studio, all the dye treatments are developed in a completely sustainable and eco-friendly way, using very little water or energy. The garments have been hand-dyed, hand treated, and where chemicals have been used, it is ensured that they are REACH certified.

For this collection I have helped explore the dyeing processes alongside styling and visual merchandising the collection, to create a narrative that is in keeping with the Project Earth concept and Pattern Recognition ethos.
